Methyl ester is classified as Green circle – the chemical that has been verified to be of low concern based on experimental and modelled data. It is listed in the Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL) for use in Safer Choice labelled products.
PALMERE Methyl Ester is used in the production of chlorinated esters, act as viable replacements for chlorinated paraffins as secondary plasticisers in lowering the usage levels of phthalates. Chlorinated esters made from PALMERE Methyl Ester are relatively low in toxicity and with good biodegradability.
Compare to epoxidised vegetable oil, epoxy plasticiser prepared from PALMERE Methyl Ester is more soluble and confers better flexibility to the plastic at low temperatures. Epoxidised Methyl Esters can be used as a primary plasticiser
